Gives preference in state contracts for procurement of
aggregate, sand, gravel or rocks obtained from land that is not
in floodplain or composed of soils in Class I to IV.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to state contracts for certain minerals.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + Section 2 of this 2007 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS 279A.140 to 279A.155. + }
SECTION 2. { + Notwithstanding provisions of law requiring a
state contracting agency to award a contract to the lowest
responsible bidder or best proposer or provider of a quotation, a
state contracting agency wishing to procure aggregate, sand,
gravel or rocks shall give preference to the procurement of
aggregate, sand, gravel or rocks obtained from land that is not
in a floodplain or composed of soils in Class I to IV. + }
