                       HOUSE AMENDMENTS TO

  On page 1 of the printed A-engrossed bill, line 3, after the
semicolon insert 'limiting expenditures;'.
  On page 2, after line 11, insert:
  '  { +  SECTION 4a. + }  { + Notwithstanding any other law
limiting expenditures, the limitation on expenditures established
by section 2 (3), chapter 107, Oregon Laws 2007 (Enrolled House
Bill 5043), for the biennium beginning July 1, 2007, as the
maximum limit for payment of expenses from fees, moneys or other
revenues, including Miscellaneous Receipts, but excluding lottery
funds and federal funds, collected or received by the Department
of State Lands, is increased by $255,667 for the purpose of
carrying out the provisions of section 2 of this 2007 Act. + }
  '  { +  SECTION 4b. + }  { + (1) Except as provided in
subsection (2) of this section, section 2 of this 2007 Act and
the amendments to ORS 196.692 by section 4 of this 2007 Act
become operative on January 1, 2008.
  ' (2) The Department of State Lands may take any action,
including but not limited to the adoption of rules, before the
operative date specified in subsection (1) of this section that
is necessary to enable the department to exercise, on and after
the operative date specified in subsection (1) of this section,
all the duties, functions and powers conferred on the department
by section 2 of this 2007 Act and the amendments to ORS 196.692
by section 4 of this 2007 Act. + } ' .
