  Requires authorization by Legislative Assembly before
Department of Transportation may construct or operate, or enter
into agreement for construction or operation of, tollway.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to tollways.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1. { +  (1) Notwithstanding ORS 367.806 or 383.005,
without specific authorization by the Legislative Assembly, the
Department of Transportation may not construct or operate, or
enter into any agreement or other arrangement for construction or
operation of, a tollway.
  (2) As used in this section, 'tollway' means any roadway, path,
highway, tunnel or other paved surface or structure specifically
designed as a land vehicle transportation route, the
construction, operation or maintenance of which is wholly or
partially funded with toll revenues. + }
