Whereas the United States of America has a declared commitment
to the war on terror; and
Whereas many of our citizen-soldiers have been called to active
duty and others have been put on alert to mobilize for active
duty; and
Whereas the United States Department of Defense has instructed
our citizen-soldiers and their families to put their personal,
financial and other affairs in order to prepare for possible
overseas deployment; and
Whereas this ongoing military mobilization can affect every
family member, neighbor and health care provider related to or
associated with our citizen-soldiers; and
Whereas at the time the Army National Guard, the United States
Army, the United States Air Force, the United States Navy and the
United States Marines Corps and their families were mobilized
they were enrolled in the United States Department of Defense
TRICARE insurance program; and
Whereas our citizen-soldiers and their families will be in
insurance transition during these difficult times and will
require the full support of all health care providers; and
Whereas thousands of health care professionals have responded
to the call of the Governor, the State of Oregon's
commander-in-chief, for measures to ensure that no soldier or
member of a soldier's family will be denied needed medical care
during the soldier's deployment and active duty during the war on
terror; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved by the Legislative Assembly of the State of
  Oregon:

That we, the members of the Seventy-fourth Legislative

health care professionals; and
  (2) The spirit of patriotism and sacrifice for military
personnel and their families shown by these same health care
professionals in their efforts to ensure that no soldier or
soldier's family will be denied needed medical care during the
