  Prohibits construction or operation of tollway project on

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to tollways.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + Notwithstanding ORS 383.005, the Department of
Transportation may not construct or operate a tollway project on
an existing highway or enter into any contract, agreement or
other arrangement with a private entity to operate or construct a
tollway project on an existing highway pursuant to ORS 383.003 to
383.027 and 383.315. + }
