  On page 1 of the printed bill, line 2, delete 'creating new
provisions; amending ORS 343.397;' and insert 'appropriating
money;'.
  In line 11, delete 'at' and insert 'in education service
districts,'.
  Delete lines 17 through 28 and insert:
  ' (3) The department shall dedicate one-half of a full-time
equivalent employee to each center to serve as the coordinator
for the regional planning committee.
  ' (4) Each center shall:
  ' (a) Organize and host training classes and seminars;
  ' (b) Distribute small-scale grants for programs;
  ' (c) Assist programs with finding external funding;
  ' (d) Assemble and distribute best practices information to
teachers;
  ' (e) Provide materials for professional development; and
  ' (f) Provide other activities related to talented and gifted
students.
  '  { +  SECTION 4. + }  { + There is appropriated to the
Department of Education, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2007,
out of the General Fund, the amount of $860,000 for the purpose
of establishing regional talented and gifted planning
centers. + } ' .
  On page 2, delete lines 1 through 4.
  In line 5, delete '6' and insert '5'.
