  Modifies value of county land eligible to be sold by private
sale.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to sale of county land by private sale; amending ORS
  275.225.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1. ORS 275.225 is amended to read:
  275.225. (1) Notwithstanding ORS 275.110 to 275.220, the
governing body of a county may authorize the sale of county land
by private sale as provided in this section if each parcel of
county land to be sold   { - is - } :
  (a)   { - Assessed at less than - }  { +  Has a real market
value of less than + }   { - $5,000 - }   { + $15,000 + } on the
 { - most recent - }  assessment roll prepared for the county;
and
  (b)  { + Is + } unsuited for the construction or placement of a
dwelling under current zoning ordinances and building codes of
the county.
  (2) The governing body of the county may publish a notice of
the private sale of county land described in subsection (1) of
this section in a newspaper of general circulation in the county.
The notice must contain a description of the land and must
indicate the   { - assessed - }   { + real market + } value of
the land.
  (3) Not earlier than 15 days after publication of the notice,
an officer or employee of the county authorized by the governing
body of the county to sell the land may sell all or a part of the
land, at private sale without further notice, at a price the
governing body of the county considers reasonable.
  (4) A sale under this section must be made in the manner
provided by ORS 275.190 (1).
