                      SENATE AMENDMENTS TO

  On page 1 of the printed joint resolution, after line 29,
insert:
  ' (4) Forfeiture based on similar crimes. Property may be
forfeited under paragraph (c) or (d) of subsection (3) of this
section only if the claimant is notified in writing of the other
crime or crimes claimed to be similar to the crime for which the
claimant was convicted. The notice must be given at the time the
claimant is given notice of the seizure of the property for
forfeiture, and the claimant must have an opportunity to
challenge the seizure and forfeiture of the property.'.
  On page 2, line 1, delete '(4)' and insert '(5)'.
  In line 2, after 'if' insert 'the claimant consents to the
forfeiture of the property or'.
  In line 12, delete '(5)' and insert '(6)'.
  In line 14, delete '(4)' and insert '(5)'.
  In line 16, delete '(4)' and insert '(5)'.
  In line 24, delete '(6)' and insert '(7)'.
  In line 31, delete '(7)' and insert '(8)'.
  In line 41, delete '(8)' and insert '(9)'.
  On page 3, delete lines 3 through 11 and insert:
  ' (10) Exception for forfeiture of animals. This section does
not apply to the forfeiture of animals that have been abused,
neglected or abandoned.'.
  In line 12, delete '(10)' and insert '(11)'.
  In line 16, delete '(11)' and insert '(12)'.
  Delete lines 28 through 32.
