Chapter 55 Oregon Laws 2008 Special Session

 

AN ACT

Relating to elections; and declaring an emergency.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

          SECTION 1. Notwithstanding ORS 254.085, for purposes of the general election to be held in November 2008, the Secretary of State, not later than the 55th day before the date of the general election, shall file with each county clerk a statement containing information regarding candidates for the offices of President and Vice President of the United States.

 

          SECTION 2. Section 1 of this 2008 Act is repealed on January 2, 2009.

 

          SECTION 3. This 2008 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2008 Act takes effect on its passage.
