Chapter 507 Oregon Laws 2009

 

AN ACT

 

SB 871

 

Relating to the installation of security measures; appropriating money; and declaring an emergency.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

          SECTION 1. (1)(a) Subject to paragraph (b) of this subsection, the Office of Emergency Management in the Oregon Military Department may accept gifts, grants, bequests, endowments and donations, from public and private sources, including federal funds, and may agree to conditions placed on the use of the moneys that are consistent with subsection (3) of this section.

          (b) The office shall accept gifts, grants, bequests, endowments and donations under this section in an aggregate amount of at least $250,000.

          (2) Moneys received by the Oregon Military Department under this section must be deposited in the Oregon Pre-Disaster Mitigation Fund established in section 4, chapter 18, Oregon Laws 2008, and, notwithstanding section 4, chapter 18, Oregon Laws 2008, are continuously appropriated to the Oregon Military Department for the purposes described in subsection (3) of this section.

          (3) Subject to rules applicable to federal grants, the Oregon Military Department shall disburse moneys received under subsection (1) of this section for the purpose of strengthening security in and around facilities of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland.

          (4) The Oregon Military Department shall adopt rules for the disbursement of moneys described in this section.

 

          SECTION 2. This 2009 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2009 Act takes effect on July 1, 2009.
