Chapter 656 Oregon Laws 2009

 

AN ACT

 

SB 5541

 

Relating to financial administration of the Secretary of State; appropriating money; limiting expenditures; and declaring an emergency.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

          SECTION 1. There are appropriated to the Secretary of State, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2009, out of the General Fund, the following amounts for the following purposes:

 

      (1)    Executive Office, Business

              Services Division, Information

              Systems Division and Human

              Resources Division..........................   $    1,836,701

      (2)    Elections Division............................   $    5,870,095

      (3)    Archives Division............................   $    3,639,252

 

          SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law limiting expenditures, the following amounts are established for the biennium beginning July 1, 2009, as the maximum limit for payments of expenses from fees, moneys or other revenues, including Miscellaneous Receipts, but excluding lottery funds and federal funds, collected or received by the Secretary of State, for the following purposes:

 

      (1)    Executive Office, Business

              Services Division, Information

              Systems Division and Human

              Resources Division..........................   $  10,733,242

      (2)    Elections Division............................   $       126,914

      (3)    Audits Division................................   $  16,163,230

      (4)    Archives Division............................   $    2,444,062

      (5)    Corporation Division......................   $    6,895,733

 

          SECTION 3. Notwithstanding any other law limiting expenditures, the amount of $7,520,712 is established for the biennium beginning July 1, 2009, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses for the Help America Vote Act from federal funds collected or received by the Secretary of State.

 

          SECTION 4. This 2009 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2009 Act takes effect July 1, 2009.
