AN ACT
HB 5020
Relating to financial administration of the Judicial Department; appropriating money; limiting expenditures; and declaring an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. There are appropriated to the Judicial Department, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2009, out of the General Fund, the following amounts to be used for payment of expenses of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Oregon Tax Court, State Court Administrator and trial courts for the following purposes:
(1) Operations..................................... $ 274,239,126
(2) Mandated payments..................... $ 13,902,620
(3) Debt service................................... $ 7,657,794
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law limiting expenditures, the amount of $46,512,559 is established for the biennium beginning July 1, 2009, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses from fees, moneys or other revenues, including Miscellaneous Receipts, but excluding lottery funds and federal funds, collected or received by the Judicial Department.
SECTION 3. Notwithstanding any other law limiting expenditures, the amount of $869,835 is established for the biennium beginning July 1, 2009, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses from federal funds collected or received by the Judicial Department.
SECTION 4. This 2009 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2009 Act takes effect July 1, 2009.
