AN ACT

Relating to financial administration of the Department of Justice; appropriating money; and declaring an emergency.

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated to the Department of Justice, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2009, out of the General Fund, the amount of $10,323,278 to be expended for:

          (1) Paying expenses of district attorneys, as provided in section 2 of this 2009 Act; and

          (2) Paying the expenses incurred in administering this section and section 2 of this 2009 Act, as provided in section 3 of this 2009 Act.

SECTION 2. The Department of Justice, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2009, may allocate moneys from the appropriation made by section 1 of this 2009 Act for the payment of expenses of district attorneys.

SECTION 3. The Department of Justice, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2009, may allocate moneys from the appropriation made by section 1 of this 2009 Act for the payment of expenses incurred in administering sections 1 and 2 of this 2009 Act.

SECTION 4. This 2009 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2009 Act takes effect July 1, 2009.
