                             AN ACT
 
 
Relating to fingerprints required by Oregon Youth Authority;
  creating new provisions; and amending ORS 420A.021.
 
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
 
  SECTION 1. ORS 420A.021 is amended to read:
  420A.021. For the purpose of requesting a state or nationwide
criminal records check under ORS 181.534, the Oregon Youth
Authority may require the fingerprints of a person who:
  (1) Is employed or applying for employment by the youth
authority;   { - or - }
  (2) Provides services or seeks to provide services to the youth
authority as a contractor, vendor or volunteer { + ; or
  (3) Is an applicant to operate a youth offender foster home, as
defined in ORS 420.888, or who is an adult member of the
applicant's household as defined by rule + }.
  SECTION 2.  { + The amendments to ORS 420A.021 by section 1 of
this 2009 Act apply to persons submitting applications on or
after the effective date of this 2009 Act. + }
