Directs Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of
Oregon to implement pilot project using volunteer greeters on
light rail system vehicles to improve user safety and decrease
fare evasion and criminal activity.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to mass transit safety.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + (1) The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation
District of Oregon shall establish a pilot project using
volunteer greeters on light rail system vehicles for the purposes
of:
(a) Improving the safety of system users; and
(b) Decreasing the incidence of fare evasion and criminal
activity.
(2) To the extent practicable, the district shall prefer the
use of volunteer greeters with law enforcement experience. + }
