SUMMARY
The following summary is not prepared by the sponsors of the

brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.
Prohibits Secretary of State from disclosing street address of
principal place of business of business entity by means of
website or by other electronic means accessible via Internet to
members of public. Provides certain exceptions.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to street addresses for business entities.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + Section 2 of this 2009 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS chapter 56. + }
SECTION 2. { + (1) Notwithstanding ORS 192.410 to 192.505 and
except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, the
Secretary of State may not disclose on a website, or by other
electronic means accessible via the Internet to members of the
public, the street address of the principal place of business for
a person required to deliver a document for filing under ORS
chapter 58, 60, 62, 63, 65, 67, 70 or 648 or ORS 128.560 to
128.600.
(2) The Secretary of State may disclose the information
described in subsection (1) of this section in the manner
described in subsection (1) of this section if:
(a) The person or an agent of the person that delivers a
document to the Office of the Secretary of State for filing
affirmatively consents in writing to the disclosure; or
(b) The person does not provide a separate street address in
this state for an individual or entity that serves as the
person's registered agent for service of process, notice or
demand.
(3) This section does not affect the duties, powers or
authority of the Secretary of State with respect to:
(a) Disclosing a public record that is subject to disclosure
under ORS 192.410 to ORS 192.505 other than the record described
in subsection (1) of this section; or
(b) Disclosing a public record that is subject to disclosure
under ORS 192.410 to 192.505 in a manner other than the manner
described in subsection (1) of this section. + }
