Requires State Department of Fish and Wildlife to study certain
topics related to pathogens that exist in fish hatcheries.
Requires department to submit report on study to Legislative
Assembly.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to pathogens in fish hatcheries.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + (1) The State Department of Fish and Wildlife
shall undertake a study of:
(a) Pathogens that exist in fish hatcheries;
(b) The impact on the waters of this state from the release of
hatchery produced fish that carry pathogens; and
(c) The impact on the waters of this state from fish hatcheries
that utilize Paracide-F.
(2) Based upon the study specified in subsection (1) of this
section, the department shall develop a plan to propagate
hatchery produced fish that are free of pathogens.
(3) The department shall report the results of the study and
present the plan to the Seventy-sixth Legislative Assembly in the
manner provided in ORS 192.245 on or before February 1, 2011.
(4) For purposes of this section, 'waters of this state ' has
the meaning given that term in ORS 196.800. + }
