  Directs Joint Boards of Education to prepare renewable energy
and energy efficiency curricula to serve needs of employers.
 
                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to energy resources.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) The Joint Boards of Education established
in ORS 348.890 shall direct the Department of Education and the
Department of Higher Education in the preparation of renewable
energy and energy efficiency curricula to serve the workforce
needs of the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries.
  (2) In developing the curricula:
  (a) The departments shall coordinate and collaborate with the
state institutions of higher education listed in ORS 352.002,
research institutions, the Department of Community Colleges and
Workforce Development, community colleges, the State
Apprenticeship and Training Council, apprenticeship and training
programs, preapprenticeship programs and trade organizations.
  (b) The Department of Education and the Department of Higher
Education shall make all practicable attempts to partner with
organizations that offer curricula and training programs on
renewable energy and energy efficiency. + }
