SUMMARY

Creates subtraction from federal taxable income for first
$2,400 of unemployment compensation paid to taxpayer in tax year.
Applies to tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2009, and
before January 1, 2010.
Takes effect on 91st day following adjournment sine die.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to tax treatment of unemployment compensation; and
prescribing an effective date.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. { + Section 2 of this 2009 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS chapter 316. + }
SECTION 2. { + There shall be subtracted from federal taxable
income for Oregon tax purposes the difference between the amount
allowable as a deduction under section 85 of the Internal Revenue
Code as applicable to the tax year of the taxpayer and the amount
allowable as a deduction under section 85 of the Internal Revenue
Code as amended and in effect on December 31, 2008, and as
applicable to tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2008,
and before January 1, 2009. + }
SECTION 3. { + Section 2 of this 2009 Act applies to tax years
beginning on or after January 1, 2009, and before January 1,
2010. + }
SECTION 4. { + This 2009 Act takes effect on the 91st day
after the date on which the regular session of the Seventy-fifth
Legislative Assembly adjourns sine die. + }
