Chapter 98 Oregon Laws 2010 Special Session
AN ACT

Relating to sessions of the Legislative Assembly; creating new provisions; and amending ORS 171.010.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. ORS 171.010 is amended to read:
171.010. The regular sessions of the Legislative Assembly shall be held at the capital of the state and shall commence on the [second Monday in January of each odd-numbered year] first day of February of each year, except that if the first day of February is a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, the regular session shall commence on the following Monday.
SECTION 2. The amendments to ORS 171.010 by section 1 of this 2010 Act become operative only if the amendment to the Oregon Constitution proposed by Senate Joint Resolution 41 (2010) is approved by the people at the regular general election held in November 2010. The amendments to ORS 171.010 by section 1 of this 2010 Act become operative on the effective date of this 2010 Act.
SECTION 3. The Legislative Assembly may adjourn for a period of more than three consecutive days during January 2011. Notwithstanding ORS 171.072, payments described in ORS 171.072 (3) may not be made for days in January 2011 during which the Legislative Assembly stands in recess.
SECTION 4. Section 3 of this 2010 Act becomes operative only if the amendment to the Oregon Constitution proposed by Senate Joint Resolution 41 (2010) is not approved by the people at the regular general election held in November 2010. Section 3 of this 2010 Act becomes operative on the effective date of this 2010 Act.
