Chapter 337 Oregon Laws 2011

 

AN ACT

 

SB 868

 

Relating to crime; declaring an emergency; and providing for criminal sentence reduction that requires approval by a two-thirds majority.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

          SECTION 1. ORS 137.700 and 137.707 do not apply to a person who is under 15 years of age at the time the person commits a crime listed in ORS 137.700 or 137.707.

 

          SECTION 2. Section 1 of this 2011 Act applies to persons sentenced on or after the effective date of this 2011 Act for a crime committed before, on or after the effective date of this 2011 Act.

 

          SECTION 3. This 2011 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2011 Act takes effect on its passage.
