AN ACT
SB 5516
Relating to
the financial administration of the Judicial Department; appropriating money;
limiting expenditures; and declaring an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. There are appropriated
to the Judicial Department, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2011, out of the
General Fund, the following amounts, of which the department may expend up to
54 percent during the period beginning July 1, 2011, and ending June 30, 2012,
for the following purposes:
(1) Judicial
compensation $ 62,872,712
(2) Operations $ 219,199,988
(3) Mandated
payments $ 12,889,672
(4) Electronic
court $ 2,000,000
(5) Debt
service $ 20,249,238
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any
other law limiting expenditures, the following amounts are established for the
biennium beginning July 1, 2011, as the maximum limits for payment of expenses
from fees, moneys or other revenues, including Miscellaneous Receipts, and
including reimbursements from federal service agreements, but excluding lottery
funds and federal funds not described in this section, collected or received by
the Judicial Department for the following purposes:
(1) Operations $ 42,054,537
(2) Mandated
payments $ 535,335
(3) Debt
service $ 505,816
SECTION 3. Notwithstanding any
other law limiting expenditures, the amount of $10,500,000 is established for
the biennium beginning July 1, 2011, as the maximum limit for payment of
expenses for electronic court from bond proceeds collected or received by the
Judicial Department.
SECTION 4. Notwithstanding any
other law limiting expenditures, the amount of $850,620 is established for the
biennium beginning July 1, 2011, as the maximum limit for payment of expenses
from federal funds other than those described in section 2 of this 2011 Act
collected or received by the Judicial Department.
SECTION 5. This 2011 Act being
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and
safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2011 Act takes effect July
1, 2011.
