                             SUMMARY

The following summary is not prepared by the sponsors of the

consideration by the Legislative Assembly. It is an editor's
brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.

  Prohibits use of powdered latex products in health care
facility. Requires use of low protein latex products.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to latex products.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + Section 2 of this Act is added to and made a
part of ORS 441.015 to 441.063. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + (1) The use of powdered latex products in a
health care facility is prohibited. Latex products used by a
health care facility shall be low in protein so as to prevent or
lessen allergic reaction to the products.
  (2) In addition to any other sanction allowed by law, the
Health Division may impose a civil penalty not to exceed $___ for
violation of subsection (1) of this section. Civil penalties
under this subsection shall be imposed as provided in ORS
183.090. + }
