AN ACT

 

SB 1131

 

Relating to the Oregon Korean War Memorial; appropriating money; and declaring an emergency.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

      SECTION 1. In addition to and not in lieu of any other appropriation, there is appropriated to the Oregon Department of Administrative Services, for the biennium beginning July 1, 1999, out of the General Fund, the amount of $287 for the purpose of providing financial support, in the amount of one dollar for each Oregonian who died or is still missing as a result of military service during the Korean War, for construction of the Oregon Korean War Memorial in Wilsonville. The department shall transfer the moneys appropriated under this section to the Oregon Trail Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association upon the condition that the Oregon Trail Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association use the moneys solely for construction of the memorial honoring the veterans in this state who served during the Korean War and upon such other conditions that the department considers necessary.

      SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law, section 1 of this 1999 Act is subject to Oregon Department of Administrative Services rules relating to allocating, controlling and encumbering funds.

      SECTION 3. This 1999 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 1999 Act takes effect July 1, 1999.
