AN ACT

 

SB 5535

 

Relating to state financial administration; appropriating money; and declaring an emergency.

 

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

 

      SECTION 1. There is appropriated to the Oregon Department of Administrative Services, for the biennium beginning July 1, 1997, out of the General Fund, the amount of $80,000,000. Such amount is available continuously until expended for the purposes provided in this 1999 Act.

      SECTION 2. The Oregon Department of Administrative Services shall pay the amount appropriated by section 1 of this 1999 Act to the Class Settlement Account, pursuant to the settlement agreement and stipulated final judgment in Alsea Veneer Inc. et al., v. State of Oregon et al. (Marion County Circuit Court Nos. 88C-11289 and 88C-11300) not later than 25 days after adjournment of the regular session of the Seventieth Legislative Assembly.

      SECTION 3. This 1999 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 1999 Act takes effect on its passage.
