Relating to workers' compensation coverage of hepatitis.

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

SECTION 1. To assist the Legislative Assembly in assessing the need for modifying the criteria for establishing the compensability of workers' compensation claims for hepatitis B and C, the Center for Research on Occupational and Environmental Toxicology of the Oregon Health Sciences University shall review current scientific and medical literature concerning occupational exposures to hepatitis B and C and shall propose to the Emergency Board by January 31, 2000, methodology for assessing and evaluating the actual occupational risk all state and local public safety workers in this state have of developing hepatitis B and C.
