  Acknowledges importance of farm-to-market roads. Requires state
and local authorities to consider such importance when making
highway funding decisions.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to farm-to-market roads.
  Whereas farm-to-market roads are an important part of the state
and local highway system; and
  Whereas farm-to-market roads are crucial for both farmers and
consumers; and
  Whereas farm-to-market roads help the economic development of
the state; and
  Whereas farm-to-market roads help stabilize communities; now,
therefore,
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + (1) The Department of Transportation and local
governments shall consider the importance of farm-to-market roads
when making highway funding decisions.
  (2) As used in this section, 'farm-to-market road' means a
rural or urban road, street or highway that is used primarily to
move agricultural or logging products to market. + }
