Biography

Representative Beyer was appointed as Springfield's State Representative in October 2001 by Governor John Kitzhaber. She served during five difficult Special Sessions working to rebalance the State Budget as the economy continued to dip. During the 2001-02 Interim she served on the House Transportation and General Government Committees.

In the 2007 General Election, Terry was re-elected to serve a fourth full term in House District 12 (Springfield). In the Seventy fifth Legislative Assembly, Rep. Beyer is serving as Chair of the House Transportation Committee and as a member of the Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Communities Committee and the Ways and Means Sub-Committee on Transportation and Economic Development.

Born and raised in Springfield (58-year resident), Terry has worked on many community projects from schools to the City Library to the Filbert Festival. Terry’s community service has included:

Terry and Lee Beyer have been married for 40 years and have raised three children, educating them in Springfield public schools and at the University of Oregon.
