Senator Chris Edwards
D- Serving the areas of North Eugene, West Eugene, Santa Clara, and Junction City
District 7

Please take Senator Chris Edwards Legislative Survey.

Greetings,

It has been three years since I was first elected to serve you in the legislature, and I am humbled by the trust and faith you have placed in me. I am proud to now represent your voice in the Oregon Senate.  Leading our community and representing you in the Legislature has been a privilege, and I look forward to continuing to work hard on the issues that matter most to you, our community, and our State as a whole.

I began my efforts knowing that I could not be everything to everyone. But I also knew that I could do my best to bring about change and accountability in our state, and to Get To Work on problems that demand solutions; in order to increase prosperity and improve the opportunity to pursue our individual dreams.

During my two terms as a State Representative, I worked diligently to uphold my responsibilities to you.  This past legislative session presented our state with a unique set of challenges; challenges that I took head on, with your help.

Now, 80,000 of Oregon’s uninsured children and 35,000 of our uninsured adults have access to health care coverage.  Returning veterans can attend our public universities at an in-state tuition rate regardless of their current residency status.  Fire Fighters who develop cancer on the job will be ensured Worker’s Compensation Coverage. And those who have lost their jobs received extended unemployment benefits.

There is a great deal of work that lies ahead. The full impact our nation’s turbulent economy will have on our state is still to be seen.  We will get through this tough time, but only by continuing to work together.  It is what we do now that will determine how well Oregon is positioned when we emerge from this most recent downturn.

As your new State Senator I want to reaffirm my commitment to you and to our community. It has been an honor serving you, and I look forward to continuing to work on your behalf.

And, as always, please don’t hesitate to contact me if I can be of service.

All the Best,

Chris Edwards
