House Republican Caucus
With Oregon’s economy still struggling and far too many Oregonians unemployed, the top priority for Oregon House Republicans remains strengthening Oregon’s private sector economy in order to create new jobs.
We also remain dedicated to the bi-partisan education reforms passed in 2011 and will focus on implementing those measures.
House Republicans are proud of the bi-partisan work achieved in 2011 to balance the state budget without raising taxes. That budget also set aside money which helped avoid additional cuts over the past two years. This is our goal in 2013 as well.
Finally, the escalating costs of the Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) must be addressed. These costs reduce the money our local schools can put into the classrooms and limit services from local government.
