Occupation: State Representative
Occupational Background: Teacher, 26 years at
Blue Mountain Community College, 4 years of high school; small business
owner; co-owner of family farm.
Educational Background: M.S., Sociology/U.S. History,
Montana State University; B.S., Montana State University.
Prior Governmental Experience: Oregon State Representative,
1997- Present. Eastern Oregon Regional Airport Commissioner, 1988-96.
Pendleton Transportation Plan Advisory Member, 1995-96. Delegate
to White House Conference on Families, 1980. Veteran, United States
Air Force, 1950-54.
Personal: Raised on a ranch; Married to Evelyn;
4 grown children, all living in Pendleton area; Sons – Robert
and Chuck, daughters – Linda Gehling and Carol Aldrich; 10
grandchildren. Avid sportsman. I came to this community in 1967
when BMCC was a fledgling community college and assisted in its
growth to one of the finest schools in the nation.
