LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEES ANNOUNCED

REP. BERGER CHOSEN AS VICE-CHAIR OF THE HOUSE RULES COMMITTEE

SALEM – Representative Vicki Berger (R-Salem) was appointed to three key legislative committees by House Speaker-designee, Dave Hunt (D-Clackamas County) for the 2009 legislative session.  Rep. Berger will serve as the Vice-Chair of the House Rules Committee.  Rep. Berger will also serve on the House Revenue Committee and the Transportation Committee.

“I am honored to be serving on these legislative committees.  It will be a challenging session and I will be working to make a positive impact on the Oregon economy as we work through these trying economic times.”

This will be Rep. Berger’s fourth term on the Revenue Committee.  This committee concerns itself with taxation and under the legislative process must be the originating committee of all tax proposals.

On the Rules Committee, Rep. Berger hopes to be a part of revamping the flawed ethics legislation from last session.

This is Rep. Berger’s first session on the Transportation Committee.  “I am looking forward to working towards improving the transportation network at the State rural highways, as well as urban neighborhoods.”

District 20 includes West Salem, part of South Salem and the communities of Monmouth and Independence.
