CAPITOL RECEPTION TO BENEFIT MARION POLK FOOD SHARE
SALEM— Rep. Kevin Cameron (R-Salem) will host a reception to benefit the Marion Polk Food Share (MPFS) on Wednesday, November 16 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the State Capitol Galleria. MPFS is a non-profit charity providing food for people at risk of hunger in Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley.
Rep. Cameron, a member of MPFS’ Sustainer Circle, said the reception will give local residents an opportunity to support the organization and learn more about their work to fight hunger in Marion and Polk Counties.
“Hundreds of local families need emergency food every day,” Rep. Cameron said. “Marion Polk Food Share helps our most vulnerable citizens, thanks to tireless volunteers and its network of direct service charities and food providers. I encourage everyone to attend this reception and support this vital organization, because no one in Marion and Polk Counties should suffer from hunger.”
Beverages and light appetizers will be served at this reception. Cash donations to MPFS are encouraged, though donations of canned and dried foods will be gladly accepted.
The reception is open to the public, but attendees are asked to RSVP at 503-986-1419 or rep.kevincameron@state.or.us. For more information on Marion Polk Food Share, or to donate on-line, please visit marionpolkfoodshare.org.
