Revenue & Budget On Track; Challenges Still Ahead

Statement by Senate President Peter Courtney

“Today’s forecast is the first since the close of Oregon’s first annual session. It’s encouraging. Revenue and the budget are on track. Oregon’s economy continues to show slow and steady growth.

“The budget adjustments we made in the February session have positioned us well for the second half of the biennium, but we still face challenges. Unemployment is still too high. Our schools and services for seniors and people with disabilities are facing very tight budgets.”
