Transportation Bill Paves the Way

For More Prosperous Future

Statement by Senate President Peter Courtney

“In the middle of the worst economic crisis in our history, the Legislature stepped up to make this historic investment in transportation. Together with the governor we found a way to avoid political gridlock.

“This bi-partisan legislation was one of the top priorities of the business community. It will keep our state moving by building roads and bridges, reducing greenhouse gases and creating thousands of jobs. The infrastructure investment and economic stimulus of this transportation package will help pave the way to a more prosperous future for our state.”
