Legislature Concludes Special Session

Statement by Senate President Peter Courtney

“This was a perfect storm. We were called into special session just five days ago to address major public tax policy and the future of one our state’s economic juggernauts. To get 90 legislators to be able to wrap their minds around an issue this complex in such a short period of time is nothing short of remarkable.

“Even during this busy holiday season, we came together. We took public testimony. We worked through the governor’s proposal. At the end of the day, we’ve passed legislation that will protect and grow jobs in Oregon.”
