Senator Ted Ferrioli comments on

Budget Rebalance

Salem, OR – Senate Republican Leader Ted Ferrioli (R-John Day) had the following to say about the actions taken by the Legislative Emergency Board on Wednesday:

“Many Oregonians are growing weary of government threatening to cut services and then later magically finding money to avert disaster.  Oregonians deserve better than to be treated like budget ping-pong balls.

“I abhor the cynicism of Senate President Courtney and House Speaker Hunt for their comments about saving the most vulnerable among us after they allowed notices to be sent to these very citizens telling them there benefits were due to be cut.  This smacks of a cheap political trick where government creates a crisis and then steps in at the last minute to save the day.”
