Beaverton, OR - Oregon State Senator announce this past week that Senate Bill 1066 has been signed into law and widows and orphans of veterans who lost their lives in active duty after September 11, 2001, are now eligible to apply for a free university education. This is the bill that originated in the Senate Education Committee and was passed by the legislature in the February 2008 Supplemental Session.

Senate Bill 1066 authorizes college tuition waivers at Oregon universities and Oregon Health and Science University for dependents of veterans killed or 100 percent disabled in military service after Sept. 11, 2001.
