HOUSE LEADERS ANNOUNCE COMMITTEES FOR 2011 SESSION
Committee Co-Chairs, Members to be Appointed Soon
SALEM—Democratic and Republican House leadership today announced committees for the 2011 Regular Session. The Co-Speaker Nominees, Democratic Rep. Arnie Roblan (D-Coos Bay) and Republican Rep. Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg) said both parties collaborated and agreed upon the list.
”This is the first of what will be several agreements announced by the negotiating teams as we prepare for the 2011 Legislative session,” said Rep. Roblan. “This new governance model will mean cooperation between the co-chairs of these committees will be critical to helping us maneuver through difficult budget decisions while creating jobs and protecting our children and our most vulnerable citizens.”
“Both parties agree that jobs and the state budget are the highest priorities for this session,” said Rep. Hanna. “The 2011 committees reflect these priorities, and are consolidated from the previous session in order to assure an effective and efficient legislative process.”
