REP. MARK JOHNSON TO GUEST SPEAK AT LOCAL DEMOCRAT MEETING,
BUSINESS ALLIANCE DINNER THIS WEEKEND
SANDY—Rep. Mark Johnson (R-Hood River) will be a guest speaker at two community events in House District 52, which encompasses Hood River and parts of Clackamas County, this upcoming Saturday, March 12.
“It is important to me to spend quality time with members from my district, learning what the issues and concerns are that face our community,” said Rep. Johnson. “There is a lot to be done and I’m positive that if we commit to working together, we will succeed.”
Rep. Johnson will be a guest speaker at the Oregon Trail Democrats monthly meeting on Saturday morning. The Oregon Trail Democrats began as a group of Precinct Committee People and has grown to include people from various cities in Clackamas County. They are active politically, but also in the community, working with the local library, festivals and parades and the Chamber of Commerce.
“I’m looking forward to engaging in a positive conversation about how I can address their priorities in and around our community, and as their representative in Salem,” said Rep. Johnson. “Regardless of party affiliation, we still need to create jobs, educate our kids and keep our communities safe. We can do that better together than apart and I’m excited to further develop that partnership.”
The meeting begins at 9am and Rep. Johnson will be speaking at 11am. The meeting is taking place in the Theater Room of the Clackamas County Bank located at 38975 Proctor Boulevard in Sandy. Any questions should be directed to Jan Smith at (503) 663-9754.
Rep. Johnson will also be speaking at the Mt. Hood Business Alliance dinner taking place Saturday evening at The Resort at the Mountain in Welches. The dinner begins at 6pm in the Altitude Restaurant. To RSVP and attend the dinner, please call (503) 622-3101.
“Creating a healthy environment for businesses is key to getting Oregon back on track,” said Rep. Johnson, who has owned his own general contracting business for over 25 years. “I think getting business owners and folks from various industries together in the same room will provide us with a better, clearer perspective on what we need to be doing to bring business into our state.”
If you have any additional questions, would like to attend these events or meet with Rep. Johnson while he is in district, please contact his Salem office at (503) 986-1452 or rep.markjohnson@state.or.us.
