REP. OLSON TO
HOST ALBANY TOWN HALL WITH REP. GELSER, SEN. MORSE
Bipartisan Town
Hall to Address Economy, Public Safety, 2009 Legislative Issues
ALBANY— Rep. Andy Olson (R-Albany) will host a town hall on
the upcoming 2009 legislative session with Rep. Sara Gelser (D-Corvallis) and
Sen. Frank Morse (R-Albany). The event will be held on Thursday, January
8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Venetian Theater in downtown Albany.
“This town hall provides citizens an opportunity to discuss
important issues with their elected officials,” Rep. Olson said.
“Our state needs bipartisan solutions to improve the economy, expand
health care access, strengthen public safety and protect services for
vulnerable Oregonians. I encourage all citizens to come with their questions
and comments.”
Rep. Olson will discuss his legislative priorities, including
bills he is preparing to introduce during the session. As Vice-Chair of the
House Human Services Committee and member of the House Judiciary Committee,
Rep. Olson said he will be in a unique position to influence key legislation in
2009.
“I have been working with a bipartisan coalition to develop
effective legislation to combat the costly crime of metal theft,” Rep.
Olson said. “I look forward to working in the same fashion to protect and
improve vital human services during this economic recession.”
The
Venetian Theater is located at 241 First Ave. W in Albany. The public
event is expected to last from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
