Legislative Leaders Announce Emergency Board Appointments In one of the final acts of the 2009 Legislative session, House Speaker Dave Hunt and Senate President Peter Courtney confirmed appointments to the Legislature’s Emergency Board. Courtney and Hunt will serve as co-chairs of the committee. The Emergency Board is charged with meeting during the interim to consider requests from state agencies for allocation from Emergency Funds established by the 2009-11 budget; to make internal agency budget adjustments if needed during the course of the biennium; and to receive spending and program reports from state agencies as set out in 2009-11 budget reports. On the House side, Speaker Hunt (D-Clackamas County) will serve as Co-Chair. Also appointed are: State Rep. Vicki Berger (R-Salem) State Rep. Peter Buckley (D-Ashland) State Rep. David Edwards (D-Hillsboro) State Rep. Bill Garrard (R-Klamath Falls) Rep. Bob Jenson (R-Pendleton) State Rep. Betty Komp (D-Woodburn) State Rep. Nancy Nathanson (D-Eugene) State Rep.
