Co-Speaker of the House Arnie Roblan Welcome to my legislative Web site! Thank you so much for the privilege of representing you in the Oregon House of Representatives. I am honored that the people of House District 9 have returned me to the Legislature for a fourth term. I am also humbled by the trust and confidence placed in me by my fellow legislators, who unanimously elected me to serve as one of the House’s two co-speakers in this historic session. My duties of presiding over the legislative assembly are shared with Republican House Speaker Bruce Hanna of District 7. The challenges we face as a state and as a people are truly enormous, and the tasks before us are many. We must reduce government spending. We must continue to protect vital services. We must create an economic environment in Oregon in which new jobs can be created. We must make wise investments that will benefit our state long into the future. All of this work will be done against the backdrop of these difficult economic times. The challenge of establishing effective co-governance in the Oregon House will require legislators to put aside partisan differences and join together under a shared banner of cooperation. I know that, by working together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of all Oregonians. Representing the people of the Oregon Coast is why I came to Salem.
