Joanne Verger Hello and thank you for visiting my legislative website! Representing coastal Senate District 5 has been a rewarding experience I continue to appreciate. My district stretches from Coos Bay to Lincoln City and inland to Elmira and covers parts of six counties. It is big and it is beautiful. I am very excited to work during the interim on issues important to my constituents. Please contact my office with any issue important to you. I believe that coastal Oregonian families can continue to have the kind of livable, safe cities and towns they deserve. Our region’s environmental treasures can be protected and enjoyed by both residents as well as the thousands of tourists who visit every year. As well, our beaches can be free of plastic bottles and our fishing industry can remain vibrant and successful. But to achieve these goals, we must be willing to stand firm about our future. We may sometimes differ on details, but my experience tells me that coastal Oregonians speak clearly with one voice when it comes to our desire for a quality of life that equals, in some measure, the natural beauty that surrounds us every day.
